| Welcome to SEBRA.The South East Bayswater Residents Association was formed in 1970 and works to promote the interests of residents in the area. Since inception, the role of the group has increased significantly. . SEBRA is now consulted by Westminster Council on town planning applications, licensing and traffic proposals. Its wide fields of interest include: |
- protection of the environment;
- traffic and public transport;
- Litter, Refuse and recycling;
- licensing;
- crime prevention
|
SEBRA represents some 1,000 residents across the region. (see map of boundaries). SEBRA also has excellent relationships with neighbouring Residents’ Associations including
- Hyde Park Estate Association,
- Bayswater Residents’ Association,
- Paddington Waterways' & Maida Vale Society
- Westbourne Neighbourhood Association
- Friends of Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens
We have established and maintain close liaison with the |
- Metropolitan Police Service - which now includes the former Royal Parks Police
- Constabulary - the Transport Police and the Fire Services (check on This title).
|
We co-operate particularly closely with the City Councillors of Lancaster Gate, Bayswater and Hyde Park wards, but are able to approach any Councillor on any relevant matter. We have a very good relationship at senior level with 'Veolia (ONYX)' - on street cleaning and rubbish disposal. Importantly, we are also in frequent contact with the appropriate Council officers, who seem to welcome our comments and suggestions. SEBRA holds several events each year and welcomes members to the annual Summer Garden Party and the SEBRA Annual General Meeting. We are a non-profit, non party-political, voluntary organization. | | | |
